This week we had a lot of fun exploring different ways to move boats across the water. The children used a variety of different resources including pipettes, syringes, straws and, last but not least, a huff and a puff!! The syringes proved to be very popular but they resulted in many of the boats capsizing! In the end, we decided that the straws were the most effective way to move the boats and some children even tried to race their boats. There was a lot of hilarity when one little girl discovered how to use a syringe to make a fountain. Even the very smallest syringe can send a fountain of water very high into the air, if it is pushed quickly enough!
